About Our Spring Campaign

1in6 Support: No Family Navigates Alone

There was never just one moment.

It was a series of moments — conversations with parents who were exhausted, overwhelmed, and carrying more than anyone could see. Families navigating complex systems without guidance. Caregivers showing up every day with strength and love, yet without a place where they could simply be understood.

Again and again, we saw the same thing: incredible families doing everything they could — and still feeling alone.

1in6 Support was born from that reality.

Not from a business plan, but from a need. A need for connection. For practical support. For a community where caregivers of individuals with disabilities could exhale, be seen, and find one another.

What began as a grassroots effort has grown into a national nonprofit serving more than 1,500 families across multiple states. But our mission has remained the same: No caregiver should have to navigate this journey alone.

From large community-wide events to small, intimate gatherings, everything we do is grounded in one belief: When caregivers receive the support they need, entire families are stronger. And still, every week, new families reach out.

Why Now?

From May 8–12, we are launching our first-ever community-wide campaign with a goal of $125,000.

Every dollar goes toward one urgent mission: Ensuring that families raising individuals with disabilities have access to the support, connection, and guidance they need. With your support, we will:

Expand support groups to reach more caregivers — including fathers, grandparents, siblings, and parents of young children
Grow our online community so families everywhere can access real-time support
Expand our equipment exchange, easing financial strain and improving daily life
Strengthen our team and infrastructure so no family goes without a response
Keep every service completely free, accessible, and equitable

The Connection Is Direct

When a family reaches out in crisis, someone has to be there to answer. On the other end is not a system, but a person — someone experienced, compassionate, and ready to help.

Sustaining that team requires resources. When those resources fall short, calls go unanswered. When they are strong, families find relief, clarity, and a path forward. For 18 years, we have built something extraordinary — ensuring that families in the disability community are not left to navigate alone. This campaign is our community’s opportunity to make that promise sustainable.
